Please join us in (re)welcoming your new hosts for two variety mix shows on KEXP!
Starting Tuesday, September 30th, Atticus will move from the overnight timeslot he’s held for 10 years and into the Tuesday Late Night slot - 10pm-1am, each week. With that move, the Thursday/Friday Overnight show (1am-5am Fridays) will be taken over by Promethus Brown, who has been serving as a fill-in DJ for the past two years on Variety Mix shows, Eastern Echoes, Street Sounds, and more.
We'd like to thank Michele Myers for her many years of making us dance on KEXP, most recently holding down the Tuesday Late Night show. She's moving on to focus on live DJing and we wish her all the best. We'll miss you, Michele!
Congratulations and welcome to your new weekly timeslots, Atticus and Prometheus Brown!
DJ Bios:
Atticus
I was born and raised in Seattle, and as a child I listened to KEXP almost every day to and from school. I first started volunteering at KEXP during my senior year of high school, when I was just 17 years old for our fellow DJ, Troy Nelson. After graduating high school and a year of volunteering I left to pursue my dreams in New York City. Those dreams soon turned expensive, so I moved back to Seattle after one year of college to figure out what I wanted to be. KEXP provided a space for me to explore my passion for music and I slowly picked up volunteer shift after volunteer shift, working for several different teams over the following two years. I was hired as a DJ on the third anniversary of my first day volunteering at the ripe age of 20. I spent nearly 10 years as the host of the overnight show from Thursday night into Friday morning and am now hosting on Tuesday nights from 10 PM to 1 AM PT.
In my spare time, and by spare time I mean full time job, I work at Sub Pop Records working with independent record shops across the country. I am also an avid snowboarder, I enjoy traveling, and love playing basketball and Mario Kart with my friends.
