Dina Ögon are a Swedish four-piece fronted by singer/songwriter Anna Ahnlund who export some of the world’s finest psych-tinted soul-pop music that's nostalgic, dreamy, colorful, and groovy. Their style has been fittingly described as "the lovechild of Fleetwood Mac, Eric B. & Rakim, Khruangbin and some obscure Motown b-side singles," and they just released their excellent fourth full-length album Människobarn on February 6th.
For their exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World, Dina Ögon piece together a fascinating journey through an eclectic assortment of favorites before focusing on songs from their home country. They sent this note along: "We made our mix over a long lunch break in the studio. In true band-democracy style, we took turns choosing one song each. About halfway through, Anna played the Swedish 80s gem “Genesarets sjö” by Kjell Höglund. After that, we all tapped into a concept: “KEXP needs to hear Sweden!”"
